Clear Hills County Declares State of Agricultural Disaster
August 13 2025
On August 12, 2025, Clear Hills County Council declared a State of Agricultural Disaster in response to low precipitation that has impacted the quantity of crops, hay, and pasture across areas of the County. This has been compounded by depleted soil moisture at the beginning of the growing season and a significant increase in grasshopper populations.
It is important to note that a declaration of agricultural disaster does not automatically result in access to additional provincial or federal funding programs. However, it is an important step in raising awareness among government entities about the serious challenges local producers are facing.
Clear Hills County remains committed to supporting our agricultural community during this difficult time.
