Community Recognition

Cemetery Grant
Each year funds are allocated in the budget for the purpose of assisting with the maintenance or upgrading of public cemeteries within the County. Prior to April 30 in any year, a cemetery organization may submit an application for grant funding. Applications must be submitted according to Policy 1208 - Cemetery Grant.  For more information please contact the Community Development Manager.


Capital Grants

Council provides grants to community organizations by way of an established system of evaluating and distributing capital funds.  The County, prior to April 30 each year, must receive applications for the recreation capital grant.  Applications must include submitted according to Policy 7002 - Capital Grants.  For more information please contact the Community Development Manager.  A minimum of 50% of the total project cost must be provided by the organization from sources other than county, provincial or federal grants.

Organizations receiving a capital grant will not be eligible for further capital funding for a minimum of three years.


Operational Grant for Recreation Boards

Council annually allocates a portion of one mil, or more, for recreation operating funding for the County.  Each Recreation Board has complete discretion as to how they wish to distribute the funds allocated to them.  If you are a member of an organization that would qualify for funding, please contact your local Recreation Board for more details.


Recognition Policy

The Council for Clear Hills County has passed a policy to give recognition to County residents and businesses for their significant birthday or anniversary milestones. Congratulatory messages will be sent to citizens and businesses in the County on special birthdays or anniversaries "upon request".  Anyone reaching a birthday or anniversary milestone must notify the County Administration Office at least four weeks prior to the occasion.  Recognition will be given for the following:

  1. A 75th birthday and every five years thereafter to age 95, and every year following the 95th birthday.

  2. A 50th, 55th 60th wedding anniversary and yearly thereafter.

  3. The 25th, 50th, 75th anniversary and every five years thereafter of a business or organization within Clear Hills County.

Clear Hills County shall respect the passing of residents lowering the office flags the day of the funeral, when the county office receives notification of the funeral.
